Camping Part 4: KOA Winthrop
For our final camping trip of the season we headed to the KOA in Winthrop! It gave us a chance to ride bikes in the hills (those pictures are only on my phone), play in the pool (I wish my kids liked the water more...haha) and sit back with some smores! We got an extra special treat every single morning - hot air balloons going up right in the valley next to us. It was pretty cool. I highly recommend camping. It's a great family bonding experience!
Camping Part 3: Lake Perraygin
On our continued camping adventures, every weekend in August, we headed to Eastern WA to check out Lake Perraygin! It has become a new favorite and we plan to go back next summer. The water is warm, the weather is warm and there is great swimming for the kiddos. And, it isn't too far away - about 3 hours. It's nice to have Grandma/Grandpa because they usually take the kids early to have fun and then we head over on the weekend.
Camping Part 2: Port Townsend/Fort Worden
We headed to Port Townsend, sans Shane who was in AK fishing, for our cousins wedding. Grandma and Grandpa took the kids over early and I joined the following day. It was a quick weekend but we had a fun time. No water this time to play in, but we did have fun playing in the bunkers at Fort Worden. Great experience for kids!
Tis the Season for Camping - Part 1: Birch Bay
Can't beat this view!
Ready for the beach

Ready for the beach
Baker was in Alaska for the entire month of July so our first chance to get out camping was the first weekend in August. We decided to stay near home since we knew that he (and Grandma/Grandpa) would be tired. Birch Bay is great but the water is freezing! Can't believe the munchkins went in....ya right, can't keep them out of it :)
