Lil' Peanut

Makenzie had her 1 year check up and did great - until the shots! She screamed her little head off, was hysterical and in turn I burst into tears. She was shoving the needle away from Nurse Tina and trying to get away. She ended up with a bruise on her leg because I had to hold her down so tight. Oh, my poor baby girl! It's calming to know that at her upcoming surgery she will be "put under" so she won't have to be in pain (at least at that time).

But, she is just perfect. Her stats are as follows:
-
height - 28.75" (40th percentile)
weight - 18.5 lbs (10th percentile)
head - 18" (50th percentile)

Bathing Beauty

Our little princess now is a bathing beauty thanks to our friend, Yanna! She just looked adorable in her new robe, ready to have a great time in the bath.

Hovander Park

Baker and Katie met up at Hovander Park to check out the animals and the flowers. We had a great time playing in the fields, looking out over the landscape and of course visiting the animals. Hovander is an amazing place to take kids - and it's free!

Family Bike Ride

Exhausted - poor guy

Our goal has been - when we are home - to find a new trail to either hike or bike ride on. We found this trail out at the end of Lake Whatcom and had a great bike ride. It was pretty long though and Baker was too tired to ride back (lots of hills for a 4 year old). So, he jumped in the trailer with his sister and Daddy pulled them both back. It was a quiet ride home as you can imagine :)

Viva Las Vegas

I love this bird - it just cracks me up! Look at those skinny legs!!

Fire Rock Canyon

Ha ha...driving to our next hiking destination - I loved having the mini van, I could just jump out from either side to snap a picture or two! I love that my in-laws are waving to me :)

BIG LIZARD - are we in Mexico?

After one of our hikes - it was only 100 degrees

This is awesome - a buriel plot in the middle of the desert - poor guy died due to lack of water

We're so tall!

The ceiling in the "O" theater.

Downtown - Fremont Street

60th Birthday comes with dessert :)

Not the best family picture but you get the idea

Well, it was hard to twist our arms but we joined Mom and Dad Kelling in Las Vegas for a long weekend to celebrate Mama K's 60th birthday! One of my favorite parts was getting to do something I have wanted to do forever - see Cirque De Soleil "O". It was an amazing show. I can't wait to go back and see the next one. I think Zumanity will be next. It was a quick get away but a fun one - without kids. Is that wrong?
