Aunt and Uncles
Uncle Tristan and Aunt Laura
Uncle Karsten was on the West side of the country for a long weekend so Mom and Pops brought the Uncles and Aunt up to Bellingham for a quick visit. It was great for the kids to see their Uncles and Aunt...I just wish they saw them more often. Thank you Karsten, Tristan and Laura for coming up!

Kindergarten Open House
Makenzie seems to enjoy the tour of the school as well.
She is will be prepared in just a few years
-
Yes, it's true! Baker is old enough to go to school! He will be joining the graduating class of 2023! HOLY &*#)#%! How is that possible!?!? I will be 45 years old! (Ok, I just had a glass of wine, so I am calm again).
We took Baker for his open house at his new school, Carl Cozier. The exciting part of this is:
1. Shane went to Carl Cozier; 2. Grandma teaches at Custer Elementary (until June) and they are Custer Cougars and Carl Cozier are the Cougars; 3. Shane went to Washington State University where they are Cougars! See a pattern? I won't even discuss when he is suppose to graduate from college! Baker saw his classroom and met his teacher. He had a great time exploring the school.
18 Month Checkup = Forward Facing
After Makenzie's 18 month check up we were able to finally make her forward facing. Here are her stats:
-
Height: 33.75" = 92nd percentile (up from 50th percentile at 12 months)
Weight: 24.2 pounds = 50th percentile (up from 25th percentile at 12 months)
-
It's obvious that our baby girl had a growth spurt! She is getting so big and has so much personality. Her words and actions are beyond impossible to write down. She mimicks everything and I mean EVERYTHING Baker does. If he stands up, she stands up. If he burps, she burps! I will work on a post of just the words that she says - it's amazing but some of her favorites are:
-
Mama, Mommy (new), Dada, Dad (new), Nana, Papa, Grama, Gramp, Nana (banana), dawg (literally it sounds like that), cat, duck, BEEE (Baker), Nee (Mama Nee her sitter), she meows and barks, up, yes, NO!, raf (Giraffe), tied (tired), baby, baba (bottle), ouch, hi, hello, peez (please), treat, ank YOU (thank you), more, all clean, all done, down, uh oh, walk, sing (swing), wheo (whale), butt (YES...she says BUTT)...
-
One morning I was getting dress and I felt something touch me and I said "Shane did you touch my butt", I turned around and there was Makenzie patting me on the bottom saying "butt, butt". I guess that means she does comprehend what I am saying :)
End of 2009-10 Ski Season
We didn't get up the last weekend because of Shane's emergency appendectomy but I am glad that we got up on this beautiful day. What a great way to end the season. Baker had a great year - just wish it was a longer one.
